The MOMS-I.N.C.
team:
Eva
Eva is Vice-president and co-founder of MOMS-I.N.C. A
divorced mom of three children, a 22 year old son,
a 19 year old daughter and who she calls her
"blessing baby, " Kenny, who is 7 years old, Eva
worked as a mental health counselor at a large
non-profit agency in
Syracuse, NY, before becoming permanently disabled
with degenerative back problems. As an active
member of her church, she works in Women's
Ministry, leads a Bible study group and has
developed a ministry for single moms. Currently,
Eva has been presenting small seminars on
children's nutrition and the FAKE5 to church youth
ministers along with composing and performing
contemporary Christian songs with her eldest son.
She has had an interest in nutrition since her oldest
children were young. Frequenting organic food
stores and keeping "junk" food out of the house,
she tried hard to feed her kids healthy food. With
her youngest however, Eva admits she became more
lax and unaware of the danger of food additives,
she grew concerned when Kenny began to gain weight
soon after starting school. At the same time,
Robin began her nutrition education and shared her
knowledge with Eva which caused her to begin to
overhaul her families diet.
Eva and Dr. Orlowski worked closely with their local school
district to educate the food service department
directors about how to enact changes to bring
about a healthier and less chemically laden school
lunch. She is a frequent contributor to her city
newspapers Editorial page and a board member of
the school's PTO group.
Her personal philosophy on nutrition is "Anything God has
created for human consumption will always be
better than what man can make".
